Iris is an architectural skin designed for a organic honeycomb skeleton made with SmartNodes and off-the-shelf beams. This light-weight skin uses 2 types of materials for its hexagonal pyramid shaped cells- aluminium and ABS. These are placed strategically in response to the pavilion's unique environment to provide protection from the sun’s glare, ventilation and water drainage.
Iris was a group project from my Master of Design, Innovation and Technology course.
